Fresno Rainbow Pride E-mail

Fresno Rainbow Pride is seeking committee members. Wanted: Individuals who are COMMITED can FOLLOW THROUGH on their commitments work COOPERATIVELY and can be a TEAM PLAYER!

The Pride Parade and Festival are 5 months away. Community Link's Fresno Rainbow Pride is looking for some dedicated individuals who would like to work with an existing group of Pride Volunteers to assist in organizing the 2008 Fresno Pride event.

Since Community Link took over the organization of the annual pride event, its vision and mission has been to reestablish a respected, professional and inclusive Regional Celebration for the Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender community of the Central Valley.
In the 17 year history of Fresno's lesbian and gay pride parade and festival, Community Link is the fourth group to officially organize the annual event. The first one was the Fresno Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee; out of the 14 founding committee chairs 8 were Community Link Board Members. The second group was the Miller Project's Stonewall Pride, followed by the United Pride Committee (UPC). UPC turned over the responsibility of the Pride event to Community Link in 2003.

Over the course of the past 6 years there has been a constant and dedicated group of organizers that have assisted in bringing the Pride Parade and Festival back from the brink of oblivion and cancellation. However, time has began to take its toll on this group of people and due to medical, personal, and burn out reasons, there are now vacant positions that need to be filled. Experience organizing events would be preferred, but is not necessary. All of Community Link's event organizers have been trained on the job.
What is necessary is a desire to work cooperatively with the seasoned staff, be willing to learn, be a committed and motivated team player. But most importantly be dependable and committed to following through on your commitments and assignments.

If this describes you and you are interested in continuing and strengthening Community Link's vision and mission for a Positive and Enriching Pride Celebration - contact us immediately.
The contact person is Jeffery Robinson and may be reached by:
